Which Starlink generation do I own?
Easiest way to tell: a round dish is Gen1 (the original 2020–2021 hardware). A rectangular dish that motorises and self-aligns is Gen2 (2021–2023, also called "Standard Actuated"). A rectangular dish that's flat with no motor is Gen3 (2024+). The Mini is the smallest one, about the size of a laptop, designed to be portable and DC-powered.
What fits Starlink Mini vs Gen3?
Mini is smaller and DC-powered (30 V), Gen3 is bigger and AC-powered. Most cables, mounts, and cases are gen-specific because the connectors and form factors differ. Filter by your generation in the top nav and you'll only see compatible products. Universal items (cable clips, flat cables, enterprise cables) work across multiple generations.
Do I need to drill holes to mount Starlink on my RV?
No. Our aluminium roof-edge clamps grip 10–60 mm roof lips without drilling or sealant — fits most RVs, motorhomes, vans, and box-trucks. Magnetic and suction-cup mounts are also drilling-free options for steel-roof or fibreglass surfaces respectively. Only permanent pole / pipe installs require any hardware penetration.
